Day 2  Wednesday 17thNovember

Dunedin

Our introduction to Dunedin is Olveston House and Garden

Peony Rose Visit.

Olveston, and its collections were gifted on trust to the City of Dunedin by Miss Dorothy Theomin following her death in 1966. The house and garden remains in perfect condition and portrays the spirit of the Theoman family.

Lunch – No7 & Balmac

Time in the afternoon to walk in the Central City with a historical walking guide or shop

Dinner – Esplanade St Clair

Day 3  Thursday 18thNovember

Dunedin

A day on the Otago Peninsula and an opportunity to meet our wildlife.

Morning Visit to a gorgeous private garden sitting on the edge of Otago harbour.

Lunch – Glenfalloch

Monarch Wildlife Cruise and Albatross Visit

Dinner – Titi  

Accommodation – Fable

 

Day 4  Friday 19th November

Te Anau

Depart Dunedin south to one of my favourite gardens called ‘Maple Glenn’. Its extensive, stunning and remarkable in this rural farming landscape.

We will enjoy a simple picnic lunch today in the garden before travelling through Southland to      Te Anau.

Day 5 Saturday 20thNovember

Te Anau

A day trip through New Zealand’s iconic landscape to Milford Sound where we will join a cruise on the fiord.

Day 6  Sunday 21stNovember

Wanaka

Travel Day through to Wanaka with a stop for along lunch at Akarua – Lake Hayes.

Drive over the Crown Range to Wanaka for the next three nights.

 Day 7  Monday 22ndNovember

Wanaka

 A quieter day after a few days driving.

Scones and Coffee at our place ‘Swallows Nest’  

Picnic in the Lupins at Cluden Station.

Time to walk along the lake / shop / rest for the remainder of the afternoon.

 Day 8 Tuesday 23rdNovember

Wanaka

Time to enjoy the best of Central Otago Wine. Wine tasting at Domaine Rewa.

Meet our own French Potter and visit Yannick’s pottery.

Lunch at Cloudy Bay Vineyard.

An afternoon visit to Bendigo town and understand the importance gold had on the history of Central Otago

Day 9  Wednesday 24thNovember

Franz Joseph

 Departing Wanaka today and I’m very excited to be heading to the West Coast. We drive through my all time favourite native NZ Beech forests, stopping at Haast and Fox Glacier before arriving in Franz Joseph.

Day 10  Thursday 25thNovember

A visit the glorious Lake Matheson.

Wild life boat trip on Lake Okarito.

Christchurch

 We drive from Franz Joseph to arrive in time to board the Trans Alpine Train to Christchurch.

Depart

 

My private special tours are based on unique accommodation and the best of regional kitchens and wines.
